Farming

“Farming isn’t a battle against nature, but a partnership with it”

There is no greater synergism than a farmer who tends to his land and crops in an intimate and respectful way. We abide by this belief to sustainably and responsibly grow one of the world’s superfoods, and we enjoy it too! It is our passion and pride to be able to do this and provide better food for a healthier world.

While we are fortunate to be able to grow nutritious food, growing sweet potatoes is no small task. It is one of the most labor intensive crops grown in California – We employ up to 250 people during peak seasons of planting, harvesting and holiday packing. There is a lot of love that goes into each sweet potato through the entire process. Here is what a typical year looks like for our farming operation:

FEB -MAR

Hotbeds &
Transplant Production

APR - JUN

MAY - AUG

Fertilization, IPM

MID AUG

SEPT - NOV

WINTER

In both our conventional and organic sweet potato operation we strive to grow only the healthiest and highest quality sweet potatoes at our farm for your table. Growing quality food that is abundant in supply is becoming a more challenging task every year. We are rising to meet those challenges by finding innovative ways to reduce our footprint, increase water use efficiency, maximize productivity, and utilize natural ecosystems to grow sustainably and responsibly.
