About Us
Our farming roots date back to 1912 when the first generation arrived here – Clay Janes in the early 1920’s who was a World War One veteran. He bought his first parcel in Ballico, CA where he farmed a 10 acre almond orchard, 10 acre Thompson seedless grape vineyard, and the other 60 acres of various row crops including sweet potatoes, alfalfa, and black eye beans and raised four daughters. The second generation kept the farm operating after the second world war and when the 3rd generation came into the workforce, the farm grew to include custom services to other farmers as well as sweet potato, corn silage, black eye bean, and winter forage crop production. Our acreage increased to over 600 acres of sweet potatoes by 2013 when we started packing our own produce for the market. The fourth generation is now expanding the product line, building our organic program, and creating a company brand backed by strong values, quality products, with a focus on sustainability for future generations to come.
